The Way Forward

The Levels of training and assessment

The EBCS committee is proposing a way forward that builds on the excellent work of the coaches in the Scheme. We are looking to introduce some minor changes to levels and the requirement for all coaches to train other coaches.

It recognizes that not all coaches wish to progress but merely to help with new bowlers. With this in mind Level One will be recognized as a coaching level with the sole function of assisting with the recruitment of new bowlers.

Training the trainer will be removed from Level Three but will be a necessary component for County Coaches and any designated trainer within the county. All Advanced Coaches will be invited to be part of the National Training Team provided they are prepared to take part in a suitable training course.

The primary function of this team is to disseminate good practice and maintain a good stardard of training and assessment.

County Coaching associations

Several counties are already fully constituted coaching associations and we are proposing that we provide support in the form of templates available on the website to assist all counties to follow this route.

Funding can then be obtained directly fron Sport England under the Small Awards Scheme. This can be used to provide quality training and equipment for development work in the county. Up to £10K can be applied for every two years. Part of this funding would be used for the County Coach and other designated trainers to attend courses organized by the National Training Team.
