It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our great sport of bowls.  It is a game that has retained its high standard of sportsmanship and behaviour.  It can be played for fun, for recreational purposes, or at any competitive level you wish to aspire to.

From the humble roll-ups at my club in Wigton, Cumbria, at the age of twelve, the game of bowls has subsequently taken me around the world several times on to World and European titles.  You will also find that the wonderful social environment surrounding our game will enhance your precious leisure time.

Importantly, too, our sport has developed a comprehensive and highly effective coaching scheme to ensure you get the most out of your bowling activity.  The scheme will ensure you receive the early essential guidance to the basic techniques involved.  It can then help you to develop your skills, potential and, above all, your enjoyment of the game.
